Soggy, overgrown, and cold was the early mindset at opening night on the grass. It all burned off quickly as the night turned into a scorcher, with the usual suspects doing most of the flame-throwing. Three courts sizzled with anybody's game, as DaveButler proved dominant with 16 points after the long ride from the long winter in Alden. KentLorence, as controversial as ever, managed to squeak out a mere 13 points, whilst keeping the mantra alive, "HitKentSendKent" with some unnamed players. BobGannon missed a game and still hit it hard with 11. BillRupp and NelsonMntgmry are just fun to be around with 11 and 10 respectively. Who is this Stifter? Must be that BlondSurferDude. He gets a bullet next to his name for 9 in the opener.

Wankers: RobinMitchell for hanging around a little too long at the gates of victory coming away without one skinny point that game. CarlJosephAmorosi for burning so hard his edges corroded. BillyCleary for the poorest showing from someone who plays WayTooMuch croquet.

Walkers: ________ and the rest of you who don't set-up or clean-up. Please make a point of doing one or the other in some small way. You really suck if you don't. Mike Doran for leaving in the middle of the game cuz his new wife wouldn't believe he would be playing croquet until midnight.

Winners: MikeDoran for coming out so strong in the beginning. Bill Rupp for playing hands-off on rules exceptions and that BuffaloPepsiTrademark-infringing sweatshirt. Rob Price cuz i'm writing this and I know all you guys by your first names.

Wenches: JaneJacobson for taking a real interest and not being bothered by the coarse language and constant cajoling. We may have our first croquetBabe.

OGorman Billoni RobG and Sullivan all held back to create a false sense of security for the night's leaders. Townsell Lega and Mergler when you get more points, we'll publish your first names. DaveWhite??? TskTsk one lousy stinking point??!!!

LauritzPaulsen was missed. Visit him if you get a chance at ecmc.
