Louie the Dog speaks out |
| Buffalo, NY -July28, 2003 As the season rolls to it's suspenseful conclusion it is worthwhile to reflect on the maturing of the club up to now. It is certain that the mental and physical toll of the "Hit Kent" movement has registered with our members, decidedly shortening the gap between Lorence and the next tier of challengers. What has developed appears to be two schools of play, dubbed the Lorence school and the Amorosi/Cleary school. In the Lorence style we see hitting only as a function of moving further on the path to victory. This neo-shark like intensity carries the ball around the field in a methodical "winning-is-the-only-thing" fashion.
In contrast, the A/C school comes out of the chute like the East German Bobsled team looking to crush balls further ahead like so many ice pellets under their steely blades. Everything is fair game and disrupting the flow seems to be the mantra. While some have used hitting to a distinct advantage, the A/C style has appeared to attract a few itinerant clubbers who appear to like their wings "hot". However, those who remain cool and stay the course have demonstrated to the showy cross-court pounders that skill and perseverance will rule the day. -Louie the Dog
In the fashion action: Billoni's coca-cola red shirt to match his face, was a two thumbs up. Bill Cleary - Best Ensemble, mostly white with touches of bright blue. Amorosi always looking smart in a hard edge way. Butler sansa hat scored big. Rupp is in fourth place with a first place tan. Lorence is a prep with no way out. RobG ran out of different shoes, so he did not attend. O'Gorman still shines like a wet turtle. Doran practices in his back yard, in the middle of the night, naked. Sullivan needs to be mentioned here. Lauritz doesn't like us anymore, so I won't mention him here. Dave White made the courts the best they have ever been, Thank you. Aand if you showed up, maybe you'd Winsome.
Is it the points or the moment?
